| My
name is Bernard Chassé, Bachelor in Business Administration from the University
of Quebec at Montreal and certified appraiser. My office is located on Ste Louise
street in Saint-Jean-de-Matha. I moved here in 2000 and have been involved in
various cultural and social committees ever since.
The
challenge that we on the board of directors face over the next two
years is to improve the quality of life of the community as a whole.
The new board is composed of great business people full of dynamism
such as M. Sylvain Binette - vice president, Mrs. Sylvie Rivest
- secretary-treasurer, M. Jean Robitaille - municipal representative,
M. Richard Charron, Mrs Lisan Hubert and M. Yannick Paradis, Mrs
Marie Préfontaine as directors, and our permanent employee,
Executive Director Mrs. France Lapierre.
The
primary goal of the Chamber of commerce is to provide support to our retailers
in their need to improve the efficiency of their businesses. We firmly intend
working with our elected officials in order to valorize the village and enable
better visibility for our merchants; establish a public market where we can acquire
local products as well as fresh local fruits and vegetables. Our main objective
is Buy Local. We are at the disposal of merchants and business people in our
community and we fully intend to remain available to discuss any project and any
suggestions that can improve life in our community. I also like to take this
opportunity to invite everyone to participate actively in our fundraising events
like the Festival Festi-Force-Louis Cyr, the dinner and raffle or just get involved
as a member or as a volunteer Congratulations for your contribution to our
local merchants and for your continued support. We know we can always count on
you. Thank
you for your confidence.
